We don’t know about you, but somehow we missed the fall colors this year. As you transfer birthdays, vacations and appointments to a new 2018 calendar, please consider saving these dates and attend the Women’s Retreat in 2018.
If you would be interested on serving on a committee to work-out the details, let us know. Go to their web site to see details on the facility. This is our third year, but first Fall Retreat at Foster Retreat Center.
Do you like to attend Bible Study on Wednesday night? Is your life just too crazy on Wednesdays? Or would you just like to have some company for supper on Wednesday? Then Midweek Meals is for you! Throughout the school year, we serve a kid-friendly (but adult-friendly, too!) meal every Wednesday from 5:15-6:15pm. The cost is $3.00 for adults and $2.00 for kids with a $10.00 maximum per family. Reservations are requested. Also, sign up in the narthex for a Wednesday to prepare a Midweek meal, if interested.
D.E.M.I.T.A.S.S.E. (Dames Enjoying Mighty Intelligent Talks And Scintillating Spiritual Endeavors) is a women’s Bible study that meets on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 7:30pm in the Adult Bible Study area.
M.U.G.S. (Men Under Grace in Service) also meets on Wednesdays at 6:30pm in the Bistro area. All men are welcome to join this Bible study each Wednesday.
THREE CLUBS AT ASCENSION
You may know that Ascension has a book club called the ABC (Ascension Book Club). This group is open to anyone who enjoys reading a good book and discussing it with your fellow members and friends. Each member of the ABC is encouraged to invite family/friends/co-workers to join us each month (3rd Monday at 7 PM). It’s a great way to share time together and get to know new people as well. Please consider joining this club at Ascension that has been going for over two years.
However, if a book club isn’t your cup of tea, then consider joining one or both of the NEW clubs starting at Ascension. Check out the details below and start thinking of who you will invite to join you at the first meeting of the B3 Club or M3 Club. All are welcome!
- B3 Club: Brew + Burger + Bible
The B3 club at Ascension might be just what you’re looking for to get involved with the many opportunities that we offer to connect with others. This group will meet once a month to ponder the meaning of a passage from the Bible. Of course, good discussion always goes better with food, so we will be meeting at a local pub to enjoy a brew and burger as well. The venue will change each month and suggestions are welcomed from all B3 participants (just send Pastor Joel an e-mail). The B3 Club will meet on the 3rd Friday of each month at 7 PM. Check out Ascension’s website (ascensionburnsville.org) for up-to-date information on the meeting place and the Bible passage we will be considering. Please direct any questions to Pastor Joel.
- M3 Club: Movie + Meal + Mixer
The M3 club at Ascension might be just what you’re looking for to provide some fun and entertainment on a Saturday. This group will meet on the last Saturday of each month to watch a movie (at a local theater) and share a meal (at a nearby restaurant). This mixer is for adults only and will provide great faith-based discussion about a current blockbuster film from various genres. Suggestions for upcoming films are welcomed from all M3 participants (just send Pastor Joel an e-mail). Check out Ascension’s website (ascensionburnsville.org) for up-to-date information on theatre, film, and show time. Remember that this club will be better when you invite your family/friends/co-workers to share the evening with us. Please direct any questions to Pastor Joel.
JOIN THE AUDIO-VISUAL TECH TEAM! Our Audio-Visual Team serves to enhance our worship service and special events by using sound and visual elements appropriate to the occasion. As a member of the team you would need to arrive early to set up the equipment as needed for the worship service, assist with the existing audio system and future installations of new audio systems and video cameras, handle the PowerPoint presentations during worship on Sundays. If you would like to join the Audio-Visual Tech Team, please speak with Pastor Joel or Steven Larson. Training will be available for all who are interested.
